This paper provides a summary of the article, “Impaired visual attention in children with dyslexia” by Heiervang et al. (2003), which appeared in the January/February edition of the Journal of Learning Disabilities. The paper also gives a critique of the article, and shows how the findings of the article can be applied in a kindergarten classroom, in particular the need for special attention to be given to dyslexic children within this particular context.
